THE COMPETITION WAS HELD

Strengthening the political, economic and cultural foundations of our country, activating the scientific and educational potential to bring the country to a new level of development is the strategic goal of being implemented educational reforms. The accumulation of rich experience in mastering the advanced methods of education and information technology, raising the level of education and creative activity of society created favorable conditions for the implementation of educational reforms in our country. The carried out reforms in the field of education became the main condition of the priority direction of the state policy, the system of harmonization of national interests and the interests of every citizen, rapid socio-economic development of the country, cultural and spiritual improvement of the Turkmen society. The reforms are aimed at the creation of the perfect form of the education system, and envisaged the creation of a modern society.

In order to properly implement the educational reforms, on November 22, 2022, a competition was held on the subject of “Botany” among the 3rd and 4th year students of the faculty of Agronomy of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The competition consisted of two stages. In the first phase, students were tested by answering test questions related to the subject, while in the second phase, they demonstrated their skills in solving problems related to the agriculture. The most skillful students who participated in the competition were selected.The students were not only the winners of the competition but also became the winners of their professions based on their scores.The three highest-scoredstudents took first, second, and third place in the competition. The first place was won by Muhammedov Palwan, the 3rd-year student of Agrochemistry and Soil Science department, the second place was won by Gulov Kadyr, the 4th-year student of Agronomy department, and the third place was won by Hayitov Mergen, the 3rd-year student of Agrochemistry and Soil Science department. The winners were determined based on the average scores of the students who participated in the competition. Among the professions, the 4th-year students of the Agronomy specialty won the first place, the 4th-year students of the Selection and Breeding of agricultural Crops specialty won the second place, and the 4th-year students of the Agroecology specialty won the third place.

Such competitions, which are held during free time from studies, not only encourage students to know the theoretical basis of the course well, but also help to increase their love for their profession, to develop professional skills, and to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice.
