The Turkmen Agricultural Institute, in collaboration with the Departments of Land Reclamation and Applied Mechanics, organized a scientific and industrial training course titled “Digital Land Management: From Theory to Practice” from November 14 to 16, 2024. The course was attended by specialists from agricultural enterprises in the Dashoguz Velayat, including representatives from the Dashoguz Velayat administration, the administrations of the Gorogly and Shabat etrap, the Dashoguz Velayat land resources department, and the land resources departments of the Gorogly and Shabat etrap. Experts from the Dashoguz agrochemical laboratory and faculty members from the institute’s departments also participated.
During the course, the head of the Department of Land Reclamation, lecturer Shatlyk Pygamov, presented on GIS and its capabilities, as well as the use of GIS technologies in creating soil maps for crop fields. Another lecturer, Nowruz Abayev, discussed the preparation of digital maps using the QGIS program. The head of the Applied Mechanics Department, lecturer Guvanch Orayev, provided insights into the use of automated systems for map creation and the application of digital technologies in land leveling.
A distinctive feature of the course was the active exchange of ideas between faculty members and industry specialists. Such scientific and industrial training courses play a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientific achievements and their practical application, contributing to the adoption of innovative technologies in agricultural production.
